„Moto Rafael, the Electrical Drawer“, made by the Schichtls, a famous family of puppeteers, 1912. The puppet was operated like a ventriloquist’s puppet, i. e. by hand, not by electrical devices as the epithet suggests. It „drew pictures“ according to the audience’s wishes. Movable eye brows, moustache, and lower jaw.

„Hundeclown“ („Dog Clown“), marionette made and used by the Schichtls, a famous family of puppeteers, about 1890. Movable lower jaw. Probably used in vaudeville scenes with real dogs.

„Punch“ and „Judy“, glove puppets, about 1900. Punch, a roughneck and womanizer, and Judy, a naive, but always quarrelsome woman, are the protagonists of the British puppet theatre.

Swing marionette, late 19th century. Swing marionettes are operated from above by means of a stick attached to the head of the puppet. Usually movable shoulders and hips.
